Durable Goods Crash Pumping Up This CommodityGold ($GOLD – CME)Monday, August 26, 2013 It’s a strange row of dominoes, but the last one to tip could still make you decent coin. Today, we learned that July’s Durable Goods (DG) figure was truly terrible. The Commerce Department reports that manufactured items like cars, dishwashers, and airplanes fell off 7.3%. This is the first decline in DG in four months, and DG’s biggest loss since August 1012. The simple story is that this is bad news for the industrials. But Wall Street is never that simple. This red flag has some traders thinking this will slow down the Fed’s plans to withdraw excess capital from the economy and marketplace. And that has the gold bugs talking inflation again. Gold and silver futures spiked on the news, with gold rising back to $1,400 and it’s little cousin silver popping to 1.3% at $24.05/oz.
Bottarelli Research Tip: Gold ($GOLD – CME) set a rock-solid bottom over the summer and is already approaching resistance at the 38.2% retracement marker at 1,413.71. If this new buying pressure can push gold through this limit, it should rise very rapidly to the 61.8% marker at $1,561.05. A Very Nice 209% Profit “A few weeks ago, Adam Lass sent out a LEAPS play on ANF. I noticed that ANF was reporting earnings Thursday morning. I remembered Adam’s play on ANF puts. I bought ANF September 47 Puts for $3.10 and sold them Wednesday morning for $9.60. A very nice 209% profit! Way to go Adam Lass and Bottarelli Research! Thanks again Guys.” – Member Doug R. Paid for LEAPS, Options, and Pro for a Couple of Years “I am a big fan of Adam’s, and I kept adding small bits to my ANF position along the way. Adam brought me a triple on this one. Paid for LEAPS, Options, and Pro for a couple of years. Heck, I feel like I ought a buy a polo or something at A&F out of gratitude, but I may hold out for a few months and see if I can’t stretch that polo into a Tesla.” – Member Bill M. 400% in Only a Few Weeks “I was not a subscriber when the initial ANF put was recommended, but I saw the recommendation later and decided to buy the September 45 puts. Bought at $1.55 and sold today for $7.31! That’s almost a 400% gain in only a few weeks. Great call!” – Member R.V. | |
